A fault in a storage vessel led to a emission of radioactive substances. The Emergency Ministry says that only a very minor incident had occurred. The leakage caused a localized rise in radiation to 47 µR/h (microroentgens) compared with the norm of 23 µR. Elsewhere in the factory the rise in radiation was no more than 10-13 µR.
The specialists of the Emergency Ministry and the specialists of the Atomic Energy Ministry believe, that such a meager leak is absolutely harmless and safe.
